Licenciada
(BSc equivalent) in Mathematics, Major in Probability and Statistics.
The Spanish system does not classify
degrees as the Enlgish one (First,2:1...). However, my average mark
during my first degree is 77.9%.
Therefore I'm guessing my degree would be roughly equivalent to
a BSc (Hons) First class in Mathematics in England.
The University of the Basque Country
have told me that in the 1997-1998 academic year (when I graduated)
the average mark of those who graduated in Maths in my department
is 61.8%. They also told me that:
43.3% graduated with less than
60%
50% graduated with an average mark between 60% and 70%
3.3% graduate with an average mark between 70% and 80%
and finally, 3.3% graduated with an average mark between 80% and
90%
In that year 60 people graduated in Mathematics at the University
of the Basque Country, therefore I am ranked third
or fourth of my promotion!
